Tummy Tuck Reviews
"Awesome Doctor!!! - I went in for a consultation for a tummy tuck and a breast augmentation. Dr. Keyes thoroughly informed me of all the risks and regulations/rules to follow leading up to the surgery as well as after. Dr. Keyes and Kimberley were very kind and caring. They make themselves easily available to answer any questions or worries. From the numerous calls checking in after surgery, to the way they treat you during visits, it is obvious they truly care for their patients. My results are improving every day. It has been about a month since my surgery and I am surprised at how the results are changing. I am happy with my results and so glad I went to Dr. Keyes. I will be returning to him for anything else I decide to do."- A. / RealSelf / Jan 24, 2019
"39 Years Old Mommy Makeover. Los Angeles, CA - After giving myself fully to my family for 12 years, it was time for something for me. I went to see Geoffrey R. Keyes to discuss what could be done. We came up with a plan and I was able to have the procedures a few months later. Dr. Keyes and his staff are amazing. If you live in the Los Angeles area I highly recommend him. His surgical assistant Kimberley is awesome, she and Dr. Keyes saw to and took care of all my concerns. I am so happy with my results, it's only been a week, but everything looks so much better. I had an umbilical hernia repair, tummy tuck, breast lift with implants. The first day or two were painful but I was able to stop pain meds by day 4. Now it's just a matter of reminding myself to take is easy. All and all a great experience, happy I did it, would do it again!"- C. / RealSelf / Aug 12, 2015
Tummy tuck surgery can be successful for both men and women. If you cannot lose or reduce sagging skin in addition to unwanted fat in the stomach, this cosmetic surgery can help create a slimming and more toned look. Dr. Keyes suggests you be at a stable weight before undergoing this treatment. Body contouring surgeries like the tummy tuck are not procedures to help you lose weight — they surgically excise loose skin. A form of liposuction is usually incorporated during the procedure to reduce fat. Women interested in abdominoplasty should be past childbearing to ensure the results are not affected. Most of all, you need to be healthy and have realistic expectations as to how your abdomen will look post-op.
Dr. Keyes will perform your tummy tuck with general anesthesia in an outpatient setting. The amount of skin that needs to be removed will dictate the type of tummy tuck you will need. A mini tummy tuck involves a smaller incision at the pubic line. A traditional tummy tuck incision will be made from hipbone to hipbone. An extended tummy tuck involves an incision that goes past the hip bone and on to the flanks to tighten the "love handle" area. Once the incision is made, Dr. Keyes will remove excess fatty tissue with liposuction, excise sagging skin, and tighten the muscles in the abdominal wall. These surgical techniques will create a nicely contoured abdomen. Upon completion, you will be sutured closed and sent to recovery.
What to Expect
Following this procedure, you will be carefully examined and sent home wearing a compression wrap to decrease swelling. Walking upright will be hard to accomplish for a while, so you should take it easy for a few days. Resuming normal movement becomes less painful once the tightness subsides and the incision heals. You can go back to your everyday activities somewhere around two weeks. Workouts can begin around eight weeks or earlier if you are given permission by Dr. Keyes. The midsection will feel tight and uncomfortable, but you will look and feel normal again once healed.
Surgical incisions for your abdominoplasty will vary based on which technique is used. During all tummy tucks, Dr. Keyes uses the smallest incisions needed to minimize scarring. He also places incisions in areas that are less visible (through the belly button or in the pubic region) so they may be hidden by underwear or a swimsuit. Following your tummy tuck, it is important to adhere to your scar management instructions so your stitches heal properly and eventually blend into your natural ski
